It’s bloody hot and Spain are playing a World Cup semi-final in about an hour’s time. Two very good reasons, you’d think, for not bothering with a post tonight.

So, suffice to say that when you read in the local paper about the arrest for drug smuggling of 13 family members and the seizure of their 58 properties and in the national paper that the leader of the PP party in Alicante has been arrested for alleged corruption, you do wonder (once again) whether you’re living in the Wild West.

But tune in tomorrow for the web reference of my write-up of the recent Camino from Tui to Santiago I made with old friends at the end of May and early June.

Postcript: Can you believe that, not content with the unbearable racket coming from the TV, several guys in this wi-fi bar have come armed with home-made vuvuzelas. Thank God I’m off to Jon’s place to watch the match. If he tries something like that, I can always kill him. And blame it on the heat.
