Five house-guests arrived today. It’s the last night of our August fiesta. And there’s fireworks at midnight. So no post tonight. Or at least not much of one.

Poem on the headstone of a grave in an English cemetery:-

Remember man, as you walk by,
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, so shall you be.
Remember this and follow me.

To which someone had added:

To follow you I'll not consent.
Until I know which way you went.

I have also seen similar.

I say stranger stop as you pass by!
As you are now so once was I.
As I am now so you shall be.
Prepare thee then thy destiny.
Which way you go I do not know.
Which way I went is not your bent.

Hi Colin,

When my mother was about 20 years old she had an exchange of views about her looks and those of my grandmother's. Grandma responded:-
Como te ves, me vi. Como me ves, te veras.
