- Passing the first house I bought – a small semi/duplex in Knutsford – I noticed there was a big Audi saloon on the drive. Which rather endorsed my view that property prices have so far outstripped everything else that people who can afford expensive cars are living in much smaller properties than when I first started working. And/or because people are buying cars on cheap-looking leasing deals.

The UK, the EU and Brexit
- Here's a total non-surprise: British and European officials are discussing the possibility of extending Article 50, if Mrs May loses next week’s Parliamentary vote on her deal, because of fears a Brexit deal will not be completed by March 29. BTW . . . There's believed to be no certainty that this vote will actually take place next week. After all, Mrs May has promised that it will, and we all know by now what that means. For what it's worth: Any extension to Article 50 must be unanimously agreed by all EU member states, and EU officials have hinted in the past that the UK could be granted a "technical extension" in order to give time to enact legislation or complete a general election or referendum. And: Some regional analysts question whether, when confronted with the prospect of a no deal, the EU might be prepared to go further than a mere "technical extension".
- The UK has been in the EU for 40 years or more. I'm beginning to think that it could take this long to leave it. But, against that, I'm not confident the EU will endure that long. Vamos a ver.
