Interesting to see that Banco Popular and Banco Pastor are probably going to merge. And useful too. For I could never remember which was which. And this was even after I'd deposited some money with one of them. Bit embarrassing really, trying to withdraw funds from a bank to which your name means nothing.

Also interesting to see another review - from The Washington Post - of the Sheen-Estevez film "The Way".

But is there anything less interesting - or more dispiriting - than driving through Liverpool and Birkenhead en route to Leeds on a cold, foggy, wet afternoon in early October, on a day on which you know the sun is shining in Pontevedra and the temperature is around 23 or 24?

Not to mention England losing to France in the rugby World Cup quarter-finals.

So, the 85 year old Duquesa de Alba has finally married her 60 year old toy-boy. See here for a foto and details. And ponder the possibility this marriage has already been consummated. Assuming she hasn't given all her vast wealth to her kids so as to eliminate their resistance to the nuptials.

Hi Colin nearly fell out of the chair when I clicked on today as you are back. The Duquesa de Alba - always there in the headlines. What would Spain do without her?

Colin said...

Indeed! Long may she reign. I look forward to seeing her fourth husband. . . .

I saw the film "The Way" back in July and thought it was quite well done. Have you seen it Colin? or anyone else here seen it?

Welcome back. Hope England is/was treating you well. And wow at the photos of Duquesa de Alba and her groom. I hardly think that a raging sex drive is her reason for getting married again... wonder what her motivation is? Attention perhaps?

Azra - I believe she is in love and he seems to dote on her(fame?). Then again maybe HE is the attention seeker.

Mike - I am inclined to agree that he's in it for the (fame) attention. I do however find it a little shocking that she's capable of being in love or rather, that she'd even want it. Doesn't age make people more cynical and jaded... I'm only 29 and the cynicism is already growing...

Azra-when you get to her age you are in your second childhood and free to do all the naughty things you couldn't do in your middle maturity.

Assuming you have the energy and the drive . . .
